CPCU Changes
The requirements to attain the CPCU designation have
changed. A recap of the changes are as follows:
The new curriculum requires
five Foundation courses
New Course 510 equates to CPCU 1 with some major content changes
New Course 520 equates to CPCU 5 with some minor content changes
New Courses 530 replaces CPCU 6, with no change to content
New Course 540 replace CPCU 8, with no change to content
New Course 560 is completely new and focuses on financial services institutions
The student has the option of selecting a concentration in either Personal
or Commercial Lines.
Personal Lines Concentration
New Course 555 is similar to CPCU 2 and API 29 with several changes
to content
New Course 556 is a new course, focusing on personal financial planning
New Course 557 is similar to INS 23 and ARM 56 with several changes
to content
Commercial Lines Concentration
New Course 551 is unchanged from CPCU 3
New Course 552 is unchanged from CPCU 4
New Course 553 is similar to INS 22 and CPCU 2 with several changes
to content
CPCU 7 and CPCU 9 will be eliminated. However, the
exams will be offered through the November-December 2002 test window.
