| Good Works presents
funds to Safety Program - July 2003
Sharyn Prime, past
President of the Cincinnati Chapter, presented a $775 check to
Chief James Whitworth of the Miami Township Fire and EMS Department
in Milford OH on 07-15 at the Township Safety Committee meeting.
This check represented a donation of the Cincinnati Chapter's
"Good Works" funds to the public Senior Safety Program.
The Chapter's Good Works Committee, chaired
by Nancy Moore CPCU, was impressed with the Safety Program, which
provides a way for firefighters and police personnel to enter
and check on Twp seniors without the need for destruction of property
by entering through doors or windows by use of special lock boxes
handed out by the Fire and EMS Department. The Senior Safety Program
also includes other safety items such as step stools, flashlights,
first aid kits, and grabbers. This is a perfect match for a CPCU
project - not only helping to prevent the destruction of property
to gain emergency entry to a residence, but helping to prevent
the emergencies in the first place!
Holiday gifts for our adopted family -
November 2002
The Good Works
Committee completed a successful 50/50 Raffle at the dinner meeting
on 11/12/02. A total of $176.00 was collected. The winner graciously
agreed to give back his $78.00 in winnings and therefore we have
the total of $176.00 available to purchase holiday gifts for our
adopted family.
A reservation for a family has
been placed with Valley Interfaith Food and Clothing Center, as
this is where we have traditionally spent our Good Works
dollars. The chapter has routinely included some Kroger gift cards
so the family can purchase perishables.
Annual blanket delivery to Valley Interfaith
Food & Clothing Shelter - February 2002
Many thanks to the group from Indiana Insurance
Company for making this years' drive a success! Nancy Moore organized
the drive and had help from Lynn Miller, Diana Cooper, Diana's
son Andrew, and Terry Irving to see it through. They delivered
much needed and appreciated blankets, pillows, throws, towels,
dish cloths, sweat shirts and pants, socks, underwear and coats.
