Board Meeting Minutes
February 6, 2003

Attendees: Bob Braun, Brian Wood, Bernie Nachtrab, Rob Nottingham, Jim Henry, Julie Kadnar, and Diane Richardson

The meeting was begun at 7:34.

Review of 1/10/03 minutes: Approval of the minutes was tabled until the next meeting.

Note: The complete minutes have been lost. The meeting notes from the treasurer containing the passed motions regarding the incorporation of the Chapter and the renewal of the contract with the Cincinnati Insurance Board should be taken as the majority of the business discussed at that meeting.

Treasurer's Report:
Bernie reporting.

I-Day money-to date, about $1,400-from sponsors was coming in There seemed to be some confusion with Motorists Mutual-they sent $500 to sponsor plus $100 for advertising but then said they wanted lunches. The contract for the use of the stadium was in; what about an insurance certificate?
Bernie is doing spread sheets for I-Day registrations. There will be one for registrants and another for sponsors and vendors.
Royalties from the National Underwriter for the CGL book were down. Office expenses were down. Dues are not yet in. Bernie said they normally come in March.
The CIB luncheon was January 15th.
Bernie noted that we do not need to go to the members to dissolve the Chapter and re-establish it as a corporation. The procedure is in the constitution, not the by-laws, so no vote is necessary.

Up-date on I-Day:

There should be another $3,000 in from sponsors. We are on target to meet and/or defray expenses; we may even make a profit. With 200 attendees @ $65 we make $28.50.
Rob said he can get projectors; so can Jim, if we need extra.
Registration is to go out soon. All the materials went to Ron Eveleigh.
There will be no head table. No complimentary lunches except for speakers.
Would any other organization take over I-Day? Probably not.
Julie asked if this meant she would be in charge in 2004, and the answer was probably. Some discussion arose about possibly holding National Convention here.
Another insurance group is holding a meeting at Paul Brown Stadium the same day as I-Day, but in the morning. We begin at lunch. There may be some overlap.

Programs Report:
Jim reporting.

On January 13th there will be a strategic career management program. So far, about 20-25 attendees are signed up. The cost is $500 plus breakfast, so we may be short. We need about 32 to break even.

February 28th is the Night at the Races at Turfway. So far 24 have signed up. We should make the 25 necessary to meet the commitment to Turfway.

On March 13th Pastor Lipsey will speak at Four Point Sherator

April 9th is I-Day. There will be no program in May. The golf outing in June rounds out the year.

Membership:
Steve Perry is working on the data base and chasing down dues.

Circle of Excellence:
Diane noted that a "question of the month" now appeared on the Chapter's Web site.
Julie asked that we e-mail her with names of anyone we are mentoring.

Loman Project:
Bob Braun is working on this.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30. The next meeting is March 7th.
