Cincinnati Chapter Board
Meeting Minutes
The meeting began at 7:40. Review of 7/25/03 minutes: The minutes were approved. Committees: Scholarships: There are six applications in from schools including Indiana State, EKU, and Wittenberg. The scholarships will be given out at the conferment dinner. Bob and Sharyn will decide the winners and how much we can give. We have $3,000 plus Loman matching funds of $3,000. Sharyn asked about putting a formal process in place. Right now we have something dating back to 1995. Bernie suggested that whatever we do should go in the minutes for the future. Bob and Sharyn will formalize something for the next board meeting. Membership: Steve will get information from Steve Perry. He will be contacting new members, and has an updated list. IT: Bob has worked with Angela Kruck over the summer
on the web site. He heard nothing back from the bank that takes credit
cards that National recommended. He asked if anyone else had found National's
"Fun in the Sun" cumbersome (several persons nodded). Bernie
added that he is working on something for the web. Bernie noted that
the I-Day information is last year's. Also, we need actual names of
people in, not titles.
Officers: Vice President: President Elect: Julie has secured John Eubanks to do a break-out at I-Day on the new ISO e-coverage form, and has other speakers lined up. The date is April 28th. There will be "hold the date" cards going out in January. Letters requesting sponsorships will follow. The times may be adjusted. Julie is still waiting for CIB to get back to her. President: Brian asked about the ad in the Annual meeting's program. We agreed that this was a good idea and approved. Julie noted that next year is the Society's 60th anniversary and so it will be a big annual meeting. Brian added that in regards to the National Leadership Insitute before the annual meeting if anyone can get their company to help sponsor them it's appreciated.
Was there a motion to approve the budget? So moved,
seconded, and approved. Discussion on the seminar income followed. Brian
noted that we do have some programs. Julie asked if there were any other
programs available. Sharyn noted that we have many good local people
who might do presentations. All agreed that Ohio Casualty Group as a
program site was ideal. Conferment Dinner: Sharyn contacted Gary Burbank but he does not do stand-up. He will do anything else to help. Names mentioned: Royce Phillips, a jazz pianist; a NASCAR speaker; Steve Cauthen. Bernie heard that Willie Cunningham and someone else were getting up a "dueling pianos" act. The incoming president, Hugh McGowan, is coming. The next meeting will be October 3rd at 7:30 at State Auto. The meeting adjourned at 8:40.
